Veteran Radio Jambo football commentator Diblo Kaberia Elmago is dead.
News of his death emerged on Sunday after former colleague Fred Arocho shared a message mourning the seasoned sports broadcaster.
“My brother and former workmate Diblo Kaberia Elmago is dead.. A sad day indeed,” Arocho posted on Facebook.
The announcement sent shockwaves across Kenya’s sports journalism fraternity, with colleagues and media personalities expressing grief and paying tribute to the commentator known for his football coverage.
Fellow journalist Geoffrey Mwamburi, who works at Royal Media Services, also confirmed the news in a social media post.
“Sad to have received news that Radio Jambo Football Commentator Diblo Kaberia Elmago has passed on,” Mwamburi wrote.
Diblo built a name for himself through football commentary, becoming a familiar voice to sports fans who followed local and international football coverage on Radio Jambo.
