Detectives in Trans Nzoia County have arrested two suspects linked to alleged organised criminal activities following a coordinated security operation that also led to the recovery of weapons and other items.
In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the operation was carried out jointly by officers from Kitale Police Station and a team from its headquarters.
The raid targeted the Chebarus and Kibomet areas in Trans Nzoia West Sub-County, where the two suspects—identified as Dickson Wamocho and Frank Kuyala—were apprehended.
According to the DCI, a search conducted during the operation recovered several items believed to have been used in criminal activities. These included a military-style tactical uniform, two pairs of combat boots, a sword, metal rods and multiple mobile phones.
“The suspects are now in lawful custody, undergoing processing pending arraignment. All seized items have been secured as exhibits,” the agency said.
The arrests form part of ongoing intelligence-led operations aimed at dismantling organised criminal networks in the region.
The DCI urged members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement efforts by sharing credible information, assuring that reports can be made anonymously through its toll-free and WhatsApp lines.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing and further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
