Two suspects have been arrested following a disturbance at All Saints’ Cathedral in Nairobi, where a group of individuals reportedly stormed the church premises and disrupted a meeting held within the compound.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, the National Police Service (NPS) said the incident occurred on June 12, 2026, prompting a swift response from police officers after reports of the disturbance were received.
According to the police, officers moved quickly to the scene, successfully dispersed the group, restored order, and secured the area. Two individuals were apprehended during the operation and are currently being held in police custody.
“Upon receiving reports of the disturbance, police officers responded promptly to the scene. They successfully repulsed the group, restored order, and secured the area. Two suspects were apprehended and are currently in police custody,” the statement said.
The NPS noted that investigations are ongoing, including a comprehensive review of CCTV footage, with authorities seeking to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the incident.
Police have appealed to members of the public who may have information that could assist investigators to come forward. The information can be reported at the nearest police station or through emergency hotlines and designated communication channels.
The Service assured Kenyans that all information shared by members of the public would be treated confidentially.
The incident has drawn public attention as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the disruption and determine the identities and motives of those involved.
The National Police Service reiterated its commitment to upholding law and order and pledged that the matter would be investigated thoroughly, professionally, and impartially.
“This incident will be investigated thoroughly, professionally, transparently, and impartially to ensure that all those involved are brought to justice,” the statement added.
