Senator Onyoka Announces Death of His Mother Mama Teresia Nyaboke Omoke

Senator Richard Onyoka has announced the death of his mother, Mama Teresia Nyaboke Omoke, who passed away on April 29, 2026.

In a press statement issued from Parliament Buildings, the Kisii Senator said his mother died at around 8:00 a.m. at Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, bringing to an end a life he described as one marked by humility, compassion and service.

“Mama Teresia Nyaboke Omoke was born on 25th December 1944. She was a devoted mother, a pillar of strength to our family, and a woman of great faith, humility and wisdom,” Onyoka said in the statement.

He described her as someone whose life was grounded in service and an unwavering dedication to both her family and the wider community, noting that her legacy would continue to inspire those who knew her.

The senator said her passing is a profound loss not only to the family but also to all those whose lives she touched through her kindness and guidance.

He added that her memory would remain a source of comfort in the days ahead.

On behalf of his family, Onyoka expressed gratitude to friends, relatives and members of the public for the support and messages of condolence received following the news of her death.

“We extend our sincere gratitude for the prayers, messages of comfort and support we have received and will continue receiving during this difficult time,” he said.

The family has asked for continued prayers as they come to terms with the loss, adding that details regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated at a later date.
