The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has officially opened the application process for party members seeking to contest elective seats in the 2027 General Election under its ticket.
In a notice issued by the party’s National Elections Coordinating Committee (NECC), ODM invited interested members to submit expressions of interest for various positions, including President, Governor, Senator, County Woman Representative, Member of the National Assembly and Member of the County Assembly.
The party said the exercise is being conducted pursuant to Article 61(1) of the ODM Constitution, read together with Rule 7(1) and Part VIII of the party’s Elections and Nomination Rules.
According to the announcement dated May 11, 2026, applicants must be registered voters to qualify for consideration.
ODM directed interested aspirants to submit their applications through the party’s online portal before June 30, 2026.
The party also encouraged members to verify their membership details by dialing 483036# as part of preparations aimed at ensuring a credible nomination process ahead of the 2027 polls.
“In order to guarantee a credible process, we urge our party members to continuously engage the National Elections Coordinating Committee for any clarifications,” the notice stated.
The announcement was signed by Emily Awita, Chairperson of the National Elections Coordinating Committee.
The move signals the beginning of early political preparations by ODM ahead of the 2027 General Election, with political parties expected to intensify grassroots mobilization, membership verification and internal nomination activities in the coming months.
