The Nairobi Hospital has assured patients and the public that its services remain fully operational despite ongoing governance matters currently before the courts.
In a position statement issued on March 16, the hospital said it remains stable and continues to offer healthcare services across all departments without disruption.
“The Nairobi Hospital wishes to assure all staff, patients and stakeholders that the Hospital remains stable, fully operational, and open to the public as normal,” the statement reads. “Our clinical and support teams continue to deliver services across all departments.”
The hospital noted that for more than seven decades it has operated under the Articles of Association of the Kenya Hospital Association, which provides the governance framework guiding oversight, accountability and institutional stewardship.
According to the management, the governance structure has been key in supporting transparency, responsible management and maintaining high standards within the institution.
However, the hospital acknowledged that some governance-related issues are currently before the courts and therefore declined to comment further on the matter.
“The hospital is aware of matters currently before the courts concerning governance issues. These matters are part of an ongoing judicial process and therefore sub judice. Accordingly, it would be inappropriate for the Hospital to comment further on them at this time,” the statement said.
The hospital also cautioned the public against relying on unofficial statements circulating outside its official communication channels.
It clarified that official communication on behalf of the hospital is only issued through the office of the Chairman of the Board of Management, Barcley Onyambu, or the office of the Chief Executive Officer, Felix Osano.
“Any statements circulated outside these channels should not be regarded as official communication from The Nairobi Hospital,” the statement added.
The management reiterated its commitment to providing quality healthcare to patients and the wider community despite the ongoing legal process.
