Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced water supply disruptions in several parts of the capital after heavy rains damaged key distribution pipelines.
In a statement released Saturday, the utility said flooding had washed away sections of critical water infrastructure, interrupting supply to a number of residential estates across the city.
Among the affected facilities is the Outering Road pipeline crossing the Nairobi River, which has disrupted water supply to Buruburu Phase 1 and 2, Kariobangi South and North, Dandora Phase 1 and parts of Mathare.
The Eastleigh–Kiambiu pipeline was also affected, cutting supply to Eastleigh Section 3, Kiambiu, Jerusalem, Uhuru, Jericho, Ofafa and Harambee estates.
Another damaged line is the Korogocho–Dandora pipeline, which serves residents of Korogocho, parts of Dandora Phase 1 and Kariobangi North.
In the western parts of the city, damage to the Brookeside Drive distribution line between Lower Kabete and Matundu Close junction has affected customers along Lower Kabete Lane, Lower Kabete Road and Brookeside Drive.
Acting Managing Director Martin Nang’ole said technical teams had been deployed to assess the damage and begin repair works.
“We urge our customers to remain patient as we work around the clock to restore water supply. Our teams are committed to resolving these disruptions as swiftly as possible,” he said.
The company added that specialized equipment including flushing units, mobile workshops and cranes have been mobilized to support restoration efforts, while patrol teams are monitoring river crossings and other vulnerable areas to prevent further infrastructure damage.
Customers have been encouraged to report water-related issues through the utility’s toll-free customer service line.
