Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of Nairobi and Tharaka Nithi counties on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, as part of ongoing maintenance of the electricity network.
In Nairobi, the outage will affect Kitsuru and surrounding areas, including the whole of Kitsuru Road. The interruption is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Tharaka Nithi County, several areas will experience extended power cuts starting from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Affected locations include Magundu and Ndumbini markets, Magundu Village, Matinia Market, Nkururu Primary School, Kathangawe Primary School, Ndumbini Primary School, Kaaganjo Primary School, Muragara Secondary School and Igangara Secondary School, as well as adjacent customers.
A separate outage will also affect Tungu Factory and Ntutuni Catholic Church areas, where electricity will be unavailable from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are necessary to facilitate system maintenance and upgrades aimed at improving reliability and service delivery.
Customers in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly and take necessary precautions, including switching off electrical appliances during the outage period to avoid damage once power is restored.
