The Kenya Power has announced planned electricity interruptions in parts of Nyeri County, West Pokot County and Nairobi on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, as it undertakes routine network maintenance.
In Nyeri County, outages will affect the Le Pristine Hotel and Kirimara areas from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., including Le Pristine, Kirimara, Kirimara Coffee Factory, Kanuna Water Project, Kanuna Village and Lower Kirichu, alongside adjacent customers.
Another interruption in the county will affect Gatiko and Ngaini areas between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Locations listed include Ratko, Kwa Mukurino, Gain, Kirimukuyu and Ithiegini Village.
In West Pokot County, a wide section covering Lokichar, Kodich and Losam will be without electricity from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas set to be affected include Orolwo, Lokichar, Timale, Kodich, Nakwijit, Karameri, Konyao, Kodera, Ngotut, Kasei, Losam, Natimeri, Kiwawa, Chelopoy and Alale.
Within Nairobi, several estates will also experience outages during the same hours. In Spring Valley, the interruption will affect Chiara Road and parts of Kirawa Road.
Parts of Westlands will be affected, including Muguga Green, Safaricom HQ3, Rivaan Centre, Pentagon Gardens and Boha Street.
In South C, areas scheduled for the blackout include parts of Muhoho Avenue, Mama Ngina Children’s Home, Rubis, parts of Ole Shapara Avenue, Reliance Hospital, KEWI, Al Jazeera, Uchumi Road, Parkview Estate, Heshima Estate, Five Star Estate, Olive Road, parts of Kawi Complex Road, Five Star Road, Midland Court, Halai Estate, Ruby Estate, Memon Estate and Akiba Estate.
In Njiru, the outage will affect the whole of Njiru town, Chokaa and parts of Shujaa.
Kenya Power said the planned maintenance is aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply.
Customers in the affected areas have been advised to plan accordingly and handle all electrical installations with caution, assuming they are live during the interruption period.
