Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions in parts of West Pokot, Nyeri and Kiambu counties on Friday, July 10, 2026, to allow maintenance works on the electricity network.
The planned outages will affect customers in the North Rift, Mt Kenya and North Eastern regions, with power expected to be interrupted between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m.
In West Pokot County, areas set to experience power interruption include Kodera, Losam and Alale. Other affected customers will be in Ngotut, Kasei, Natimeri, Kiwawa, Chelopoy, Alale and adjacent areas.
In Nyeri County, the scheduled maintenance will affect Kihora, Gachatha and Kariguini. The affected areas include Safaricom and Airtel boosters, Kihora Pri, Kihora Village, Gachatha Market, Gachatha C/Fact, Kwa Joseph, Kariguini Mkt and Thandii Village, among other adjacent customers.
In Kiambu County, power interruptions will affect Gitaru, Nyathuna and Cura. Kenya Power listed the affected areas as Gitaru, Kanjeru, Cura, Muthure, Ruku, Nyathuna, Gikuni, Tingati A & B, and neighbouring customers.
Kenya Power advised customers in the affected areas to take necessary precautions during the maintenance period and apologised for any inconvenience caused as it works to improve reliability of electricity supply.
