Residents in parts of Kirinyaga County, Nairobi, Kericho County and Uasin Gishu County will experience scheduled electricity interruptions on Monday, May 4, 2026, as the Kenya Power carries out routine network maintenance.
In Kirinyaga County, outages will affect parts of Karaini and Old Kangaita between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with areas listed as Karaini Market, Kamuruana Village, Mutuma Block, Rutui TBC, Kangaita Kwa Eliud, Old Kangaita Market, Kangaita Primary School, Kangaita Tea Factory and adjacent customers.
In Nairobi, the interruption will affect Kingara Road, Kingara Close and adjacent customers within the same hours.
In Kericho County, parts of Litein town will be without power from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Areas include Kapsenetwet, Chemoiben, Kabartegan, Kapminchiywet School, Botoni Village, Former PC Cheluget and adjacent customers.
In Uasin Gishu County, the outage will affect Kamoret, Kamagut, Sambut, Sunrise and adjacent customers from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kenya Power said the planned interruptions are part of ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the stability of the electricity network.
The company advised customers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements and to treat all power lines as live during the maintenance period.
