Kenya Power and Lighting Company (Kenya Power) has announced planned power maintenance works set for Wednesday, February 25, 2026, which will affect parts of Nairobi and several counties across the country.
In a public notice, the utility said the scheduled outages will run between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in most affected areas.
Nairobi Region
In Westlands, power will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., affecting Brookside Drive, Matundu Lane, Brookside Gardens, Mua Park, Grevilia Groove and adjacent customers.
Along Riara Road and parts of Ngong Road, electricity will be unavailable from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Areas affected include Oloitoktok Road, parts of Gitanga Road, Quickmart Gitanga Road, Mararo Avenue, Argwings Khodek Road, Ole Dume Road, Ngong Road, Harlequins Court, Mash Park Hotel, Impala Club, Kenya Science College, the entire Riara Road and Telkom along Ngong Road.
Kajiado County
In Kitengela, power will be off from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Affected areas include Capitol Hill, Kursan Quarry, Almond Grove, Kenpipe, KUSCO, Milimani Orchard, Milimani Homes, Sinkeet, Vineyard School, Old Namanga Road, Bible College, Raregem, Olive School, Royal Gates and surrounding customers.
North Rift Region
In parts of Uasin Gishu County, including Mlango Oletepes, Kabulwo, Racecourse Dispensary, Cheplaskei, Plateau Station, Eldoret Bypass, Airport Centre and Kipsimoo, electricity will be interrupted from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Nandi County, areas such as Ndalat, Kabyet, Chepterwai, Kaiboi, Sangalo Factory and Mutwot will also experience outages between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Western Region
In Kisumu County, Kianja and Nyabondo areas, including White Cotton, Great Lakes University, Kajulu Water Gita Market and Kibos Sugar, will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kakamega County, Lutaso Market, Nambacha Market, Nancy Academy and Dorofu will experience a blackout during the same hours.
In Bungoma County, Chebukaka and Teremi areas, including Chebukaka Girls and Kapkateny Market, will have power interruption from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Mt. Kenya Region
In Meru County, areas including Gankere, Rwanjue, Meru University, Nchiru Market, Kagaene Market and Kithiiri will experience outages from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Kirinyaga County, Spenza Millers, parts of Kagio Town, Gatitu Village and Nyaga Primary will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Nyeri County, Maragima and Kids Alive areas, as well as Kangocho and Mwanda, will experience power cuts between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
Coast Region
In Kilifi County, parts of Msabaha and Mkao Moto, including Malindi Handicraft and surrounding areas, will be affected from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Kenya Power advised customers in the listed areas to make necessary arrangements during the interruption period, noting that electricity supply may be restored earlier if maintenance works are completed ahead of schedule.
