Kenya Power has announced scheduled power interruptions set to affect several parts of the country on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, as part of routine maintenance works.
In a notice, the utility said the outages will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. in different regions, depending on location.
In Nairobi County, parts of Parklands including Kapande Road, Ngara Road, and sections of Westlands Road will experience power cuts from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
In Nyamira County, areas such as Nyansiongo, Manga, and Eronge will also be affected during the same hours, impacting institutions and markets including Nyansiongo Mission and Manga Market.
Residents in Kericho County, particularly in Kipchimchim and Ainamoi, will experience outages from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., affecting locations such as Kenya Highland University and surrounding trading centres.
In Uasin Gishu County, the Wounifor area will be without power from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., while parts of Kisumu County, including Ojola Pundo, will face outages from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, in the Coast region, residents of Maungu town in Taita Taveta County will experience a shorter outage from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m
Kenya Power said the planned maintenance is aimed at improving the reliability and efficiency of electricity supply.
The company has advised affected customers to plan accordingly, noting that power may be restored earlier if the maintenance works are completed ahead of schedule.
