Kenya Airways has temporarily suspended flights to Dubai and Sharjah following the closure of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) airspace.
In a customer update issued Friday, the national carrier said the suspension will remain in effect until further notice, citing safety concerns for passengers and crew.
“We wish to inform our customers that we have temporarily suspended flights to Dubai and Sharjah until further notice due to the UAE airspace closure,” the airline said in a statement.
As a result of the disruption, Kenya Airways confirmed the cancellation of flight numbers KQ310 and KQ305, as well as its scheduled freighter services to the affected destinations.
“As a result, and for the safety of our customers and crew, we have cancelled KQ310, KQ305 and freighter flights,” the airline stated.
The carrier apologized to passengers for the inconvenience caused and assured those affected that it would provide direct communication and necessary assistance.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding. We will communicate and engage directly with affected customers and provide them with the necessary assistance,” the statement added.
Kenya Airways noted that the situation remains fluid and pledged to issue further updates as soon as more information becomes available.
“As this is a developing situation, we will provide updates as soon as new information becomes available,” the airline said.
Passengers have been advised to check the latest flight updates on the airline’s website or mobile application, or contact its Customer Excellence Team through official communication channels for assistance.
