Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested four suspects linked to the murder of a British national and a string of violent robberies targeting foreign nationals along the Coast.
The suspects — Bernard Mbusu, Isaac Kinoti Kobia, Evans Muthengi Mutaki, and Kelvin Mwangi Njoroge — were apprehended at Ideal Apartments in Ukunda during what investigators described as an intelligence-led, multi-agency operation.
According to the DCI, the operation brought together officers from the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau (CR&IB) headquarters, alongside teams from Nyali and Msambweni.
Authorities said the arrests are connected to the abduction and murder of British national Campbell Scott Alistair, whose body was discovered in February 2025 in Mukuyuni along the Machakos–Wote road.
The suspects are also believed to be behind a robbery with violence incident involving an American national in Nyali, as well as another similar attack in Watamu, Malindi Sub-County.
Investigators revealed that forensic analysis has linked the suspects to multiple crime scenes.

A search conducted at their residence led to the recovery of several items suspected to have been stolen, including a laptop, mobile phones, foreign currencies, credit cards, cheque books from various banks, and PDQ machines.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel processed the scene and secured the exhibits as part of the ongoing probe.
The four suspects are currently being held at Nyali Police Station as investigations continue, with authorities indicating that more details could emerge as the case develops.
