Radio presenter Kerry Martin has announced his departure from Kiss FM, becoming the second major personality to exit the station this week.
He will host his final show on Wednesday, ending an 11-year career in radio broadcasting.
“I hang up the mic tomorrow, I do it with a full heart. Grateful. Humbled. Ready,” Kerry wrote in an emotional message.
He shared on social media, reflecting on his journey that began at Homeboyz Radio in 2014 and concluded with him co-hosting Kiss 100’s breakfast show.
His departure follows closely on the heels of fellow presenter Kwambox, who also announced she would be leaving the station.
The double exit signals a significant change in the lineup of one of Kenya’s top urban radio stations.
Throughout his career, Kerry Martin built a loyal following through his energetic presence and connection with audiences.
“I’ve had the honor of doing what I love, with people I love — friends who became family, and listeners who became part of my story,” he said.
Kerry hinted at future plans but did not reveal what his next move would be.
“Because this isn’t the end. It’s the beginning of something even bigger,” he added.
The announcement comes after Radio Africa announced that it had laid off 27 employees in a major restructuring.
“We made the incredibly difficult decision to let go of 27 of our colleagues. This was one of the most challenging moments in our journey,|” the Group’s CEO Martin Khafafa said in a statemen.
“These individuals have been a great part of our team for many years, some for over 20 years.”
