Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Akothee has dismissed claims that she is dating Tanzanian DJ Sadic, terming the reports false and challenging those spreading the allegations to provide evidence.
In a s statement shared on her social media platforms on Thursday, the singer also addressed claims surrounding a past music collaboration involving Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, insisting that some individuals were misrepresenting facts about how the project was arranged.
“If this was the part two, you are a pathological liar. Bring proofs,” Akothee wrote, responding to allegations that Tanzanian artist AY was involved in organizing one of her collaborations in Tanzania.
According to Akothee, the project in question was organized by an individual she referred to as “Godfather” while she was in South Africa filming another project.
She explained that Diamond Platnumz was in Cape Town at the time shooting a collaboration with Nigerian singer Flavour, and that a meeting was later arranged in Johannesburg.
“The collaboration was done in South Africa, not Tanzania. AY was never involved at any point,” she said, adding that anyone claiming otherwise should provide proof.
“If that is not true, then I want proof. Otherwise, people will be dragged into this—those who were involved and those who were not.”
She further stated that AY had never organized any event for her in Tanzania despite her visiting the country several times. “If so, let him bring receipts. Ujinga ndio sipendi,” she said.
On speculation linking her romantically to DJ Sadic, Akothee maintained that the two share only a professional and friendly relationship.
She said the DJ performed at two of her events — the Akothee Foundation charity event and its official launch — and that their association grew from there.
“DJ Sadic is a professional DJ. He performed at two of my events… We became friends,” she wrote. Addressing claims that the two were romantically involved during the Luo Festival, she dismissed the reports as baseless.
“Yes, we went to the Luo Festival with my daughters, him, and my security. I have no idea where stories of us dating at the Luo Festival are coming from. We were never backstage. I wasn’t performing, so there was no business for me backstage. We were at the VVIP area, and there are photos that we even posted,” she said.
The singer added that she is open about her relationships and would publicly acknowledge one if it existed. “Everyone I date, I announce. Kenyans know me,” she stated.
Akothee also mentioned that during one of the events in question, she recalled sitting next to Kenyan artist Prezzo, while another individual identified as Fundi briefly interacted with her.
However, she insisted that claims linking her romantically to DJ Sadic were unfounded.
“Respect people and stop spoiling people’s reputation,” she said, warning that continued spread of what she termed false narratives could draw more people into the dispute.
She concluded by reiterating that during her visits to Tanzania, she interacted with individuals including Salam, Diamond Platnumz, Babu Tale, Harmonize and Rayvanny, and maintained that there was “nothing to be organized” by the parties being mentioned in the allegations.
The outspoken singer said the matter could escalate further if the claims persist, signaling that she is prepared to defend her reputation.
